Types of laser pens
There are several types of laser pens. They are mostly distinguished by their colors. Examples include Yellow, red, violet, green and blue laser pens among others.
Yellow laser pens are not regularly used. They emit at 593.5 nm and are available in the market. With yellow laser pens, lasing lines are combined together with a nonlinear crystal. Yellow pointers are unbalanced and incompetent in their output. They are known to be affected by temperature changes and during their processes of discharge they may require temperature stabilizers. They use smaller and less powerful diodes.
Another type is the blue laser pens. They emit at 473 nm. They can be available in high and lower power. These are the latest type of laser pens to appear into the market. Blue laser pens have acclaimed to have exceeding power.
Violet laser pens have a little relation to blue ones. It emits at 405nm. With this type unintentional hazardous ultraviolet emissions are possible. Emissions from blue and violet pointers appear slight similar due their close coloring but noticeably different. A few high powered violet lasers have become available in the market more often from Chinese sources.
Red/red-orange laser pens are the simplest and the earliest. In the earlier day they were quite large in size but were later simplified to smaller sizes. They are generally available at lower cost compared to other types of laser. They are said to emit at 671nm.
Another common type of pointer available in the market is the green laser pens. Some green pointers operate in rhythm to trim down cooling and lengthen battery life.
